It looks like more HD collection trilogy boxsets are on the way! They are a Splinter Cell Trilogy HD pack and a Prince of Persia HD Collection pack.

Retail listings have confirmed these two awesome new packs that are apparently coming soon.

Both of the titles are listed as published by Ubisoft (who owns both) with both of the listings for PS3 at a cost of £30 (about $46). The Splinter Cell Trilogy is listed with a November 2010 release date whereas the Prince of Persia collection has a March 2011 release date attached.

Naturally, as always with these retailer listings, this is still “rumor” and anything could change, so don’t take any of this as gospel. I’d imagine that Ubisoft would want to release the collections on as many platforms as they can to maximize profit though. Seems like an easy buck, I’d definitely buy both of them!

Both of the lists were revealed via Amazon France and And both of them have the word “HD” attached as well, so you can definitely expect updated graphics for the included games. Along with the requisite Achievements/Trophies added as well. What else would be updated beyond that is anyone’s guess.

These are only the latest collections to be rumored hot on the heels of a flurry of others; Including: Mortal Kombat Kollection, ICO Shadow of the Colossus Collection, the Odin Sphere Muramasa collection, the Super Mario All-Stars Wii Collection, the previously announced Sly Cooper Collection and the very successful God of War Collection that kickstarted it all (and let’s not forget the Mega Man Zero DS collection).

I’m all for this. The more collections that can be released the merrier! These classics deserve to be re-released so new generations can play them in updated form. And so that old fans can relive them in glorious high-definition with Achievements/Trophies. The latter alone is enough to make me consider rebuying all of these.

Hopefully we’ll get official word on the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia collections soon.
