While first-person shooters run the gaming world today, back in the 90's fighting games stood a top the heap. While there was a whole lot of crap being churned out (ClayFighter anyone?), Capcom always maintained a respectful array of fighters. Along with the Street Fighter and Marvel games, they released Darkstalksers.
Darkstalkers was essentially Street Fighter with monster movie favorites as characters. Vampires, werewolves, frankensteins, zombies…. you name it, this game had it. While the first game was a lot of fun, I think the series hit it's peak with its sequel Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge.
Night Warriors is to Darkstalkers as Street Fighter II Turbo is to Street Fighter II. Gameplay was much faster, EX moves (which the Street Fighter series now uses) were implemented and the graphics became evern more vibrant than before.NW also borrowed the life bar from Killer Instinct. Basically, whoever wins the round maintains their health the next round as opposed to a fresh bar. This adds depth to each round because it makes it seem like a survival type match.
I don't think I'm alone in this claim. Many gamers aound the net have been begging Capcom for a HD Remix of this game. Let the artist of UDON do their magic, add all the features from Super Turbo HD Remix and that's all. We love seeing Morrigan and Felicia in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, but we also want Demitri and Victor. Capcom….MAKE IT HAPPEN !!!
